Morning all – another beautiful day just beginning.
Please find my ‘Midweek Meditation’ copied below for anyone who may wish to read it. I hope that you will take some comfort from it – and maybe a thought for you to carry with you through the week.
I am not Lost
David whispered as his voice choked. “Jesus – I feel so lost.”
A hand reached out and squeezed his and didn’t let go. “I know. But it’s not true. I am with you and I’m not lost. I’m sorry it feels that way, but hear me clearly: you are not lost.”
–The Shack, William Paul Young
Many of us can feel anxious and alone at times. More especially with ‘self isolation’, distancing and lockdown.
We can be concerned about family and friends that we cannot be with. Perhaps you are not coping too well with your world as it is just now.
It can raise our anxiety levels and leave us to feel worried, helpless and alone.
That is how David in the book ‘The Shack” felt – alone and lost at the recent loss of his daughter. He tried to deal with it on his own. He doubted that God could help.
But circumstances led him to see light at the end of the tunnel – that light was the “Light of the World’, Jesus Christ.
Jesus held him tight and wasn’t going to let him go until David’s pain had been healed.
Read – Psalm 57 verse 1
“Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
for in you I take refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed..”
We can try to deal with our issues alone – but Jesus says to us – “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest”
Take your problems to Him in prayer, talk to Him. Put your trust in God; relax in His company; allow yourself to rest in the safety of His loving arms – for only He can give us that deep inner peace that we crave. And that is a promise
Read – Psalm 62 : verses 1 & 2
“Truly, my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
Pray – “Heavenly Father, come close to me at this time ; keep me from getting lost as I pass through this journey of life. Protect me, protect my loved ones – may we never feel alone – always assured that your loving presence is with us every moment of every day.
And this we ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
Ponder – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4 : 6 – 7).
May God Bless you
And give you His Peace.
